Dead Souls Play Based On Novel Essay

Novel Dead Souls essay.

I have been in the theatre recently, watching the play, based on the novel Dead Souls. The author, Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol, describes nineteenth century Russia and its different social classes. The author highlights the differences of the lower, middle class, and wealthy by the main character’s interaction with all tiers of society. In addition, these social structures parallel other societies in different time periods. The play was thrilling and action-packed. I think, the decorations and the actors did their best to transform the atmosphere of those times. I liked the play/ Moreover, it made me think of some important problems, raised up in the novel.

The structure of the social classes during nineteenth century Russia as presented in Gogol’s novel is initially difficult to understand. The main character, Tchichikov, arrives in the provincial town of N. by a britchka, a carriage and horse. Most of the time, when I think of a man who owns two servants and a carriage, I presume he is wealthy.
